PM+D – Geoff Barker is a small architectural and planning consultancy specialising in community based projects where the end users and clients are engaged as “Partners in Development” rather than merely being the recipients of it.

1. Design and Architecture as a Process – integrating disparate, often competing; needs, ideas, opportunities, constraints and requirements into a project that achieves agreed objectives of time, cost, quality, safety and importantly a community contribution

2. Community Engagement and Community based Development - with an interest in, and a commitment to working on, cross-cultural projects in Australia, Timor Leste and PNG

3. Sustainability as a broad term covering socio-cultural, environmental, management and economic criteria

​PM+D was originally known as Practical Management and Development P/L and became PM+D Architects P/L in 2004. It is a small consultancy practice with a particular interest in providing services to clients in regional and remote parts of Australia. The firm has broad and significant planning, design and project management experience with a focus on:
